Eligibility Requirements

Post-offer employment medical examination, Background investigation, Comply with safety guidelines, 120 initial hours of on-the-job training, Re-certification in Juvenile Code and Restraint Training every six months, Comply with Bernalillo County safety policy requirements, Use of an OSHA approved respirator when required, Medical evaluation for respirator use, Fit testing for proper sealing, Shift work may be required, Work in assignments and areas possibly exposed to infectious disease

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology, Psychology or related field, one (1) year related experience working in a lockdown, secure or correctional facility, Valid New Mexico driver’s license

What You'll Do.

Serve as first line lead-worker

Conduct and participate in training

recommend and implement programs

Counsel residents in group and individual sessions

Review youth files/records

Assign and monitor activities of supervise residents

Transport residents to court

hospitals or other facilities

Physically restrain violent residents

Assure for appropriate shift transition

Initiate contacts with parents

Probation and Parole Officers and other agencies

Perform other operational job-related duties
