Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create an account or use JobsGlitch, we collect:

• —Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read it).
• —Resume content: when you upload a resume, we extract the text to calculate match scores. We store this text server-side linked to your account.
• —Search queries: the job searches you perform, used to improve recommendations.
• —Usage events: which pages you visit, which features you use. Collected via Mixpanel for product analytics.
• —OAuth data: if you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not receive your passwords or contacts.

How we use it

• —To calculate your match score against job listings
• —To personalise the job feed based on your resume skills
• —To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
• —To understand how the product is used and improve it

We do not sell your data. We do not share your resume with employers or recruiters. Job listings are pulled from public sources — we are not a recruiting platform.

Third-party services

• —Google OAuth — for "Continue with Google" sign-in
• —LinkedIn OAuth — for "Continue with LinkedIn" sign-in
• —Mixpanel — product analytics (page views, feature usage). Events are anonymised. You can opt out via browser privacy settings.

Data storage

Your data is stored in a cloud-hosted MongoDB database. Access is restricted to the application. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. Auth tokens are short-lived JWTs.

Cookies and local storage

We store your authentication token in browser local storage to keep you logged in. We use a secure HTTP-only cookie for token refresh. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can request at any time:

• —A copy of all data we hold about you
• —Deletion of your account and all associated data (including resume text)
• —Correction of any inaccurate data

Children

JobsGlitch is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we will update this page and notify users by email where practical. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
