Full Job Description

## **Amentum** is currently seeking an **X-Ray Scanner Clerk** to support our contract in **Springfield, VA**. ## Must be a US citizen, must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. ## Primary duties: * ## Preparing incoming mail for distribution and processes outgoing mail. * ## Distribute and collect mail, determine and affix postage and maintain records on postage, registered mail and packages without direct supervision. ## ## Additional duties: * ## Complying with and supporting established procedures to encompass inbound and outbound mail processing, including unclassified and classified mail up to and including TS/SCI and using proper handling procedures for all classified mail in addition to overseeing pickup and delivery schedules. ## ## Scanner Duties: * ## Scan all incoming outgoing media, including visual media up to 75 pounds in weight, for viruses and perform a “dirty word” search to ensure that no classified material inadvertently exits the Scanning Facility. * ## Must operate X-ray scanning equipment, mail containment hood ops (mail sniffers) and mail and letter opening equipment. * ## Open and inspect all mail using the containment hoods then close and attached an inspection sticker. * ## Willingness to accept risk: Although a remote possibility, must be willing to accept the risk of Chemical Biological Warfare (CBW) contact during mail handling. **Compensation Details:** US $35.22 per hour **Original Posting:** 05/10/2026 - Until Filled Amentum anticipates this job requisition will remain open for at least three days, with a closing date no earlier than three days after the original posting.
