Eligibility Requirements

standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10 pounds, Work environment can be loud with crying/screaming children, May be exposed to communicable diseases, infections, blood, and bodily fluids, Participates in emergency planning and response activities, When a local declaration of emergency or disaster is declared by County leadership, employees may be required to work as part of a National Incident Management System (NIMS)

What You'll Do.

Counseling young families to make healthy decisions

Discussing information about good nutrition and breastfeeding with clients

Making referrals to community partners

Performing administrative duties

Performing anthropometric measurements

Checking hemoglobin levels for appropriate clients

Supporting WIC team members in a clinic setting

Determining eligibility for the WIC program

Determining frequency of follow-up based on risks

Informing recipients/applicants of rules

Conducting health assessments

Accurately graphing information and determining values

Administering and analyzing biochemical (blood) tests

Analyzing assessment and tests and determining risk factors

Providing individual education using VENA principles

Setting behavior goals

Re-evaluating and establishing new goals

Providing appropriate education based on needs

Providing breastfeeding education

Performing administrative and clerical duties

Attending all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions

Providing translation or interpretation for Spanish speaking clients

Providing general agency support

Support WIC team members in a clinic setting; Collaboration with community partners; Collaboration for mutual benefit of the community through sharing information, responsibility, and resources
