What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent, 3+ years distribution or manufacturing field experience, 2+ years EHS or environmental programs experience, Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, Experience in reputed private or government organisations, Experience managing multiple direct reports, Must be flexible regarding shifts, Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement
Nice to Have
Fulfillment Center or Manufacturing Safety experience, Master's degree preferred, Experience in fast paced, changing/growing organization, Government Certified Safety Professional preferred
What You'll Do.
Execute company safety policies
Ensure compliance to regulations
Lead continuous improvement initiatives
Reduce conditional and ergonomic risk
Build trust and confidence with Operations Team
Influence change through risk assessments
Provide safety data analysis
Instruct and train Operations Leaders
Assist site teams in incorporating safety standards
Identify best practices
Incorporate best practices into standards
Lead safety team members
Create leadership development plans
Communicate safety team expectations
Give feedback to safety teams
Ensure execution to core competencies
Provide guidance and oversight
Measure sites’ performance
Identify plan for site to implement and fix
Deliver on-time and quality projects
Analyze safety metrics
Review incident trends
Justify allocation of resources
Perform frequent site safety audits
Identify non-compliance equipment and/or processes
Implement solutions to eliminate exposure
Prevent injury at other FCs
Audit recordkeeping practices
Audit Global Safety Database entries
Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviours
Manage and mentor Safety Associates
Spend time at fulfilment centers
Seek input on safety program improvement
Ensure open communication on progress
Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained
and effectiveness of safety training
Support assigned site(s)
Coordinate and assist in implementation of WHS procedures
Partner with site stakeholders to drive compliance
Coach associates on WHS requirements
Partner with site operations and WHS leadership
Tackle day to day risks
Identify and escalate compliance risks
Identify improvement opportunities
Complete routine inspections and audits
Create actions in Austin
Act as proxy for WHS Manager
Fulfill assigned tasks
Adhere to scheduled shift
