What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline, Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering consultancy environment, with a focus on wet utilities/infrastructure design, Proven experience with UAE/GCC direct Abu Dhabi authority experience is highly preferred, Proficiency in Hydraulic modeling: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET, Proficiency in CADIM: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Proficiency in Office tools: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint for calculations and reporting
Nice to Have
Master’s degree in Water Resources, Hydraulics, or Environmental Engineering is an advantage, Membership or progress toward membership in a professional institution (e. g. , ICE, CIWEM, ASCE), Abu Dhabi Utility Infrastructure Design Manuals and authority submission procedures, International standards such as AWWA, BS/EN, ISO for water and wastewater systems, Design of both gravity and pressurized systems, Prior experience in UAE or GCC market/projects
What You'll Do.
Design wet utility systems
including potable water networks
fire-fighting networks
sewerage and stormwater systems
and storage/tank facilities
Prepare detailed engineering drawings
and schematics using CAD software
Develop hydraulic models to analyze and optimize system performance
Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements
Perform calculations for pipe sizing
and system capacities
Evaluate environmental and topographical data to ensure proper system integration
Prepare technical reports
design specifications
and bill of quantities (BOQ)
Ensure all designs comply with local regulations
Work closely with architects
and other engineering disciplines to integrate wet utility systems into broader infrastructure projects
Identify and resolve design challenges or site-specific issues during the design and construction phases
Provide technical support during construction
including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information)
Follow company QA/QC procedures
and document control protocols
Assist senior engineers in defining design scope
Contribute to risk assessments and design decisions with a focus on safety
