Afinitas is part of BW Forsyth Partners, LLC, the investment group of global manufacturing and engineering consulting firm Barry-Wehmiller, a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members, united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world. **Job Description:** **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES** * Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied * Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices * Perform moderately complex saw operations and painting as required * Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers * Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers * Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions * Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements * Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and appl
