What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School graduate or equivalent, A valid Missouri motor vehicle operator's license, The ability to perform manual labor, Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis, Minimum of 1-year relevant experience or combination of education and experience may be considered, Knowledge of the repair, maintenance, and installation of distribution systems, Knowledge of the operation and preventative maintenance of a variety of equipment, Skilled in the use of a variety of hand and power tools, Skilled in oral and written communication, DS minimum or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months
Nice to Have
A mechanical/technical/vocational school background or experience is a plus, A commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus, Class A CDL preferred / Class with Air Brakes or the ability to obtain within the first 6 months

As a Water Distribution O&M Technician, you will participate in the operations, maintenance and repairs of the water distribution system. You will be repairing water pipes, valves, hydrants and other appurtenances. As well as operating a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, vac-trucks and backhoes. You will also be welding and fabricating parts and tools, repairing water mains, assisting with responding to and resolving customer complaints, repairing streets, driveways and yards following installation operations. Lastly, you will assist in locating, and inspecting new lines, and other related duties. Positions are available for licensed, experienced operations and maintenance professionals, and for inexperienced individuals looking for their first full-time job, or those in the water/sewer industry seeking to make a career change.
