Must Have
PhD or Master’s degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, 15+ years industry experience in design and development of high-performance free-space optical systems, At least 5 years in technical leadership or management capacity, Demonstrated success deploying complex optical modules into production, Expert-level knowledge of coherent light systems, Expert-level knowledge of Gaussian beam propagation, Expert-level knowledge of ABCD matrix analysis, Deep understanding of active alignment strategies for high-precision assemblies, Expertise in Monte Carlo simulations, Expertise in tolerance analyses, Expertise in stray-light modeling
Nice to Have
Experience with neuromorphic computing, Experience with advanced AI hardware architectures, Knowledge of metamaterials, Knowledge of non-traditional optoelectronic integration, Familiarity with multi-aperture architectures, Familiarity with beam-steering systems

Define and execute optics strategy
Define optics technology roadmap
Lead design of optical architectures
Define architectures for Optical Processing Unit
Ensure integration with metamaterials
Ensure integration with silicon photonics
Supervise modeling of beam propagation
Supervise simulation of beam propagation
Drive transition of optical designs to manufacturing
Ensure adherence to DFM principles
Oversee development of active alignment techniques
Oversee development of calibration techniques
Partner with Silicon Photonics leads
Partner with Electrical Engineering leads
Partner with Software leads
Manage strategic relationships with suppliers
Manage strategic relationships with manufacturing partners
