What They're Looking For.
Must Have
10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience, 5, or more, years of directly related experience, 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership role, experience installing vCenter Server Appliance including configuration and updates, experience with VMware vSphere 7. 0 or higher, to include building, configuring, managing and troubleshooting virtual machines in enterprise-level environments, experience with software-defined networking (SDN), a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Nice to Have
a demonstrated understanding of the project management lifecycle and related processes, experience performing root cause analysis, experience configuring and managing HPE server products, Be familiar with automation tools or scripting (e. g. , PowerCLI, Ansible), a VMware Certified Technical Associate or VMware Certified Professional certification, knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations, a degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline
What You'll Do.
Perform a wide range of VMware system administration activities
Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problems
Perform vulnerability remediation and mitigations
Conduct daily system monitoring
system backup and restoral
and application upgrades
Document necessary system changes and actions
Assist system administration team with the deployment of new virtual machines
Perform administration of virtualization environments to include troubleshooting
the patching and remediation of servers
and system audit log reviews

**Position Title: Virtualization Engineer/Administrator** **Location:** Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO **Relocation Assistance:** None available at this time **Remote/Telework:** NO **Clearance Type:** DoD Secret **Shift:** Day shift **Travel Required:** Up to 10% of the time ** _Description of Duties:_** The **Virtualization Engineer/Administrator** supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: * Work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of VMware system administration activities with little to no direct supervision. * Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problems. * Work closely with a team of system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity administrators to maintain a high-quality test environment for the Government customer. * Perform vulnerability remediation and mitigations to reduce cybersecurity risks and ensure DoD compliance. * Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations. * Document necessary system changes and actions in appropriate systems of record to ensure historical data is captured per customer and mission requirements. * Advise Government customer on system status, optimization and improvement efforts in accordance with program objectives and design baselines as needed. * Assist system administration team with the deployment of new virtual machines. * Perform administration of virtualization environments to include troubleshooting, break/fix activities, the patching and remediation of servers, and system audit log reviews as needed.
