What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma or GED, Minimum of 24 months from release of incarceration
Nice to Have
Experience working with at risk youth and/or adults, Experience working with gang involved youth and/or adults, Experience working with impacted youth and/or adults, Personal experience in overcoming violence, Personal experience in overcoming incarceration, Personal experience in overcoming violence-related injuries, Personal experience in overcoming gang involvement, Personal experience in overcoming the criminal justice system
What You'll Do.
Engage with family/friends to interrupt cycle of retaliation
Engage with survivors in the Emergency Department
Engage with survivors during course of hospitalization
Engage with survivors afterwards by phone
Introduce HBVIP to survivors
Community event participation
Community event planning
Participate in scheduled meetings debriefs
Participate in team activities
Participate in HBVIP weekly group consultations
Participate in HBVIP weekly rounds
