What They're Looking For.
Must Have
10+ years of progressively increasing accounting / financial reporting experience in a managerial / executive capacity (at least at level of Director) for a multi-location enterprise or division of a large corporation, of at least $500M of annual revenue., 3 – 5 years of experience with a large or mid-tier national accounting firm., Corporate accounting experience with established expertise in multi-entity consolidations, functioning in a high-transaction environment, use of estimation processes, and purchase / acquisition accounting, and stock-based compensation., Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administrator or related discipline
Nice to Have
Health care / managed care experience, CPA and/or MBA designation
What You'll Do.
Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Oversee the operations of the accounting department
Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations
Manage outsourced functions
Oversee the compilation and timely issuance of financial statements to senior management and the board of directors
Manage the day-to-day relationship with financial auditors and annual audit process
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed
in particular for capital investments
and contract negotiations
Oversees the Accounts Payable function and ensures that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Process payroll in a timely manner
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Oversees day to day banking relationship and cash management
Develops and maintains the general ledger and the chart of accounts
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
and federal government reporting requirements and tax coordinates the day-to-day relationship with external tax compliance support

The controller is accountable for the accounting and day to day financial reporting operations of the company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of internal controls designed to mitigate risk.
