# Registered Veterinary Technician, RVT # ## Location: Calgary, AB ## Department: ER/ICU ## Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, Casual and Overnight ## Compensation: $25.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills. ## Schedule: Flexible schedule, ask us more! Shift Premium for overnights! ## Relocation Allowance and Support Available! ## **Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre **is a state-of-the-art veterinary emergency and referral hospital, providing expert care and treatment around the clock. We are expanding our team and are welcoming**Registered Veterinary Technicians** who want to **expand their skills, grow professionally,** and be part of an **amazing collaborative team**. As a specialized Registered Veterinary Technician, you will perform the following key responsibilities: * Provide advanced care for 7 to 10 critically ill and injured patients on average per shift * Assist with emergency resuscitation, trauma stabilization and critical care management * Prepare patients for anesthesia and surgical procedures, monitoring vitals throughout * Assist or perform diagnostic testing, lab work and imaging * Maintain and prepare medical equipment, medications and supplies * Collaborate closely with a skilled team of specialists and technicians to ensure seamless patient care * Participate in ongoing professional development * Contribute to mentoring and training junior team members **Qualifications:** * Registered Veterinary Technician credential**** * **Open to new graduates; experience in emergency and specialty services is an asset ** * Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment * Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care * Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical team * Strong attention to detail a
