What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Veterinary hospital experience required, Microsoft Excel experience required, Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently
Nice to Have
Specialty and/or emergency veterinary experience strongly preferred, Previous experience in billing, accounts receivable, insurance processing, client service, or medical records preferred, Experience with veterinary practice management software, including ImproMed, preferred, Additional fluency in other languages is preferred
What You'll Do.
Verify and correct charges on open and inpatient
Maintain daily inpatient billing
Prepare discharge invoices
Provide clients with billing updates
Educate staff on charge entry and payment protocols
Process and finalize employee and municipal invoices
Process applicable discounts
Process payment follow-up
Communicate with clients regarding balances
Communicate with clients regarding estimates
Communicate with clients regarding deposits
Communicate with clients regarding payment
Assist with financial concerns
Manage accounts receivable
Manage overdue account follow-up
Manage referrals to collection agencies or attorneys
Serve as liaison with credit providers
Serve as liaison with collection agencies
Serve as liaison with donation/rescue organizations
Serve as liaison with municipalities
Coordinate cremation services with Abbey Glen
Coordinate logistics with Abbey Glen
Audit invoices with Abbey Glen
Maintain accurate fee schedules
Identify discrepancies with management
Adjust discrepancies with management
Process insurance claims
Follow up on insurance claims
Manage pet remains awaiting cremation
Communicate with clients regarding pet remains
Collect payment for pet remains
Manage abandonment procedures for pet remains
