At**VCA Orange County Veterinary Specialists** we are seeking an experienced **Veterinary Assistant** to join our **Surgery Team**. **Compensation** : $ 20 - $ 28 / hour **Schedule** : Full-Time, days or swing shift **Location** : 3021 Edinger Ave, Tustin, CA 92780 We may be part of a big company but we are a close-knit work family. We believe in high quality veterinary medicine and patient care and making that happen through dedication and learning. The position is for four, 10 hour shifts, 5:00pm to 3:30am or 8:00pm-6:30am. This will include at least one weekend day (unless you are a glittery unicorn that really really wants to work Saturdays AND Sundays, which we would be happy to accommodate). Duties will include: * Maintaining medical records. * Preparing for and performing procedures and treatments. * Preparing medications and prescriptions. * Communicating in person and on the phone with clients. * Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging. * Assisting in procedures. * Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for hospitalized pets. * Assisting in other areas of the hospital, as needed.
