**VCA Yucca Valley Animal Hospital** is looking for a**Veterinary Assistant** to join our team. **Location:** 57185 29 Palms Hwy, Yucca Valley, CA 92284 **Wage range:** $19 - $22 **Schedule:** Full-Time, 4-day, 10-hour shift with alternating Saturdays _**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**_ * Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility preferred. * Must be friendly, outgoing, and “people-oriented.” * Excellent communication skills. * Telephone and computer skills are necessary. * Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept change. _**Physical Requirements:**_ * Dependable attendance is required. * Must be able to lift 40 pounds. * This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during an 8-hour day. **The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:** * Physical examinations and patient assessment * Anesthesia monitoring * Surgical preparation and assisting * Dentistry * Radiology * Laboratory work * Venipuncture * Catheter placement * Pharmacy * Patient recovery * Client Communication * Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals VCA Animal Hospitals offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays, and sick days, health and well-being programs that provide resources and training.
