Location: 1610 Old Apex Road, Cary, NC 27513 **VCA Parkway Animal Hospital** is hiring a full time **Veterinary Assistant** to join our team! **About Us** We are a 2-doctor canine and feline practice in Cary, NC. Our caring and supportive team offers Primary Care, Dentistry, Surgery, Boarding, Grooming, and more. Our hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm, Saturday 8am - 1pm, closed on Sundays. Check out our website here: **About the Role** As Veterinary Assistant, you will support our veterinarians with a variety of duties including surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring, and in- and out-patient care. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with great client service skills. Responsibilities include but not limited to: * Patient care for hospitalized and boarding patients * Exam room patient check-in * Client care and education * Venipuncture and lab sample collection * Surgical prep and recovery * Anesthesia monitoring * Record management **Qualifications** * One or more years of Veterinary Assistant experience * Able to proficiently perform veterinary technical skills including duties listed above * Able to work independently and as part of a team **Schedule** : Full time, must include rotating weekends. **Compensation** : $16.00 - $18.00 / hr based on skill set, and experience. **Why VCA** VCA Animal Hospitals is a community of over 800 hospitals across the US, including primary care, emergency, and specialty medicine.
