Full Job Description
**VCA Animal Specialty Group** is looking for an exceptional**Veterinary Assistant** who can help the doctors and technicians with various tasks, including restraining for IVC placement, x-rays, blood/urine samples, exams, procedure and surgery prep, assisting with emergency triages, etc. Other responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting the treatment floor, procedure rooms, and wards, stocking medical supplies, cleaning and sterilizing surgical packs and instruments, maintaining laundry, feeding and walking patients, processing in-house lab samples, and much more. **Location:** 4641 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039 **Job Type:** Full-time, 10 hours, 4 days/week **Salary:** $24.00 - $30.00 per hour **Shift Differential:** for overnight shifts only **Available shifts:** Overnight **Ideal candidates must be proficient at the following:** * IVC placement * Venipuncture and U/S guided cystocentesis * Radiographs * Anesthesia induction (RVTs only), monitoring, and recovery * Hourly patient treatments * Triaging * Calculating and preparing medications for administration * Preparation for procedures * Restraining for exams and diagnostics **Applicants should have or be able to do the following:** * At least 1 year of experience in animal restraint. * Work Saturday and/or Sunday. * Work overnights. * Communicate respectfully and compassionately. * Receive and carry out instructions accurately and efficiently with minimal instruction. * Multi-tasking in a very busy environment. * Able to receive feedback politely and respectfully. * Outstanding organizational and time management skills, including remaining busy during downtime. **Why You Should Consider Us** * VCA ASG offers competitive compensation packages with overnight shift differential (for overnight shifts only), medical, dental, vision insurance (after 30 days of employment), 401k (w/ company matching), accrued vacation/sick time, paid holidays*, education and professional growth opportunities, health & we
