Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs), inspections, and repairs on underground and surface mining equipment”

Problems you'll solve

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions; problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; Excellent problem-solving skills with complex problems, including both definition of the problem and generation and evaluation of solutions

Eligibility Requirements

Work performed both underground in a mining environment and on surface in workshops or yard facilities, Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, diesel emissions, and varying temperatures, Use of PPE always required, Physically fit and able to work in confined underground spaces, Schedule is a 7 on and 7 off schedule, DS/NS and overtime as needed, Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Ability to read OEM manuals, hydraulic/electrical schematics, and technical drawings, diagnostic skills with mechanical, hydraulic, can bus and electrical systems, Proficiency with laptops and diagnostic software for OEM equipment, commitment to safety and compliance with mining regulations, Ability to work independently and in a team environment under demanding conditions, Effective communication skills to relay technical information and equipment status, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, Physically fit and able to work in confined underground spaces, Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts, Able to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)

Nice to Have

Previous experience in underground mining maintenance is strongly preferred, Hands-on knowledge of Sandvik, Normet, Caterpillar, and Komatsu mining equipment, Familiarity with underground support vehicles and light-duty fleet

What You'll Do.

and repairing a wide range of mining equipment and light vehicles

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs)

and repairs on underground and surface mining equipment

Conduct field repairs in underground workings

Complete accurate work orders

and equipment service records

Always maintain safe work practices

Provide feedback on equipment condition

and recommend improvements

Collaborate with operations, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel; Participate in continuous improvement initiatives; assist in training apprentices or junior mechanics

Effective communication skills to relay technical information and equipment status; Effective written and oral communication skills

Process & Methodology

Excellent planning and organizational skills, goal setting, group performance monitoring, ability to modify priorities where necessary to achieve these goals
