What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years of experience in a repair, technical support, or military technical training environment, Technical background with proven software, electrical, and electromechanical skills, Advanced troubleshooting & problem solving techniques, Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with interpersonal skills, Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential: Excel, Word and Power Point, Must be able to travel if needed and be able to obtain a US passport, Successful applicants must be a “US Person” (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees)
Nice to Have
Associate’s Degree or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred or combination of experience and education, Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, a US security clearance, Previous experience using Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, Experience working closely with customers in sales, customer service, or technical capacity, Ability to work as part of an extended team to identify, repair, and report on all isolated equipment failures
What You'll Do.
Deliver Slocum service and support
Answering technical inquiries from customers via website
and repairing complex oceanographic equipment
Documenting all repair activities accurately and writing clear and concise repair reports for customers.
Travel to customer sites for testing and service as required
