Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, Flexibility to work occasionally outside normal daytime hours, Must be able to observe and note patient behaviors as needed, including during group activities, Must be able to hear typical environmental sounds, including in some background noise, Can understand and operate from the conceptual basis of tasks and activities, Ability to move tables and chairs to set up rooms for counseling, Reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Current approval as an Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists or Maryland certification as a Peer Recovery Coach, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the approved Luminis Health system within 30 days of hire, Driver’s license and driving record with no more than two points
Nice to Have
AA or BAS degree in a human services field, One year of work experience in behavioral individual and/or group counseling and residential treatment experience
What You'll Do.
general supervision of residents and their activities
facilitation of group meetings
collaborative treatment planning
linkage to the appropriate level of care and/or community resources
individual counseling sessions
psychoeducational and/or therapeutic groups
collaboration with other Pathways Counselors
assistance to the Adventure Therapist
delivery of Adventure Therapy challenge course
maintenance and safety inspections of equipment and grounds
maintenance of staff and course certifications
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
collaborate with other Pathways Counselors to manage emergent and complex patient problems, concerns, or other issues; Work collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary teams; collaborate to provide a treatment environment of learning, growth, and individualized clinical interventions
