What You'll Achieve.
Complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner; Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations; Ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal legal and/or insurance requirements; Adhere to all required project safety requirements
Industry & Context.
Find solutions to complete the job; Execute advanced troubleshooting skills
Extensive travel, 6 to 8 weeks at a time, Road warrior, Willing to work on-call, early morning, day, night, and weekend shifts, Ability to work in cramped spaces, Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift and work at heights, Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation, Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI or DWI in the last three years)
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Data Cable Technician with CAT5e, fiber optic, and network experience, Experience in low voltage cabling, smart hands network replacement, and telephony, Knowledgeable of all industry standards (NEC, TIA/EIA, BICSI), Highly proficient with using smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems, Experience reading blueprints and site maps, Ability to consistently complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner, Excellent customer relationship and communication verbal and written, Knowledgeable in identifying independent colors and learning color codes, Execute advanced troubleshooting skills, Ability to work in cramped spaces, Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift and work at heights, Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation, Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure, Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regard to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior, and appearance, Valid driver's license with a clean driving no DUI or DWI in the last three years
Nice to Have
Industry-specific certifications (BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Beldon, Corning) are a huge plus, Fiber installation and termination experience is a plus, Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus, Climbing experience is a plus, Experience in conduit installation is a plus
What You'll Do.
and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video
IP Physical Access Control/LAN/WAN infrastructure
and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure
and testing services for Phone Systems
and Network devices (routers
Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings
including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work
Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations
and develop a scope of work and materials list
Installing cable support structures such as j-hooks
Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational
Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local
or federal legal and/or insurance requirements
Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter
Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein
