**It 's more than a career, it's a calling** WI-SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison **Worker Type:** PRN **Job Highlights:** **Department:** Patient Transport **Location:** SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison 700 South Park Street Madison, WI 53715 **Position Details** * **Schedule:** PRN scheduled on an as needed basis **General Duties** **Patient Transport:** Safely transports patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to designated locations, including patients requiring medical equipment such as oxygen tanks, IV pumps, monitors, and other assistive devices. **Mobility Assistance:** Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles and transferring to or from wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds while maintaining patient comfort and safety. **Equipment Transport & Management:** Transports, delivers, and properly handles medical equipment throughout the facility; ensures equipment is returned to designated locations, cleaned, and readily available for patient care. **Support Services:** Delivers medical equipment and specimens to appropriate staff or departments; may assist with transporting deceased patients to the morgue. **Job Summary:** Transports patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment. * Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers. * Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department.
