Industry & Context.
Ability to climb, bend, traverse steep and uneven terrain, Exposure to extreme temperature conditions, Lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly, Exerting up 100lbs of force occasionally, Subject to emergency callback, May require work during nontraditional work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, Legally operate CDL required equipment/trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions, Pre-employment drug testing, Release form (ALCDRG-01) and a background statement (ALCDRG-06) must be signed, Safety toe footwear is needed
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
six years of experience operating equipment directly related to the area of or equivalent combination of education and experience, Possession of a current Commercial Driver’s License on the date of hire, OR the North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained through completion of on-the-job training and all requirements mandated by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (Federal Registry 49 CFR 383) within 360 days of the date of hire.
Nice to Have
Knowledge of Intermediate Work Zone Safety & NCDOT Workplace Safety policy and practices, Experience in one of the following: shoulder and ditch maintenance, pipe installation or asphalt patching, Demonstrated ability to supervise and to train others in equipment operations as well as directing the daily activities of a work crew, Experience in snow and ice removal operations, Working knowledge of standard road maintenance and construction procedures.
