What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Six years of directly related experience, Possession of a current Class A Commercial Driver's License with N endorsement on the date of hire, North Carolina Commercial Driver's License must be obtained through completion of an on-the-job training and all requirements mandated by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (Federal Registry 49 CFR 383) within 360 days of the date of hire

Nice to Have

Experience in road maintenance and repair, Maintenance equipment operation experience, Experience in record keeping, Experience in Work Zone Safety, NCDOT Workplace Safety Policy and Practices experience, Experience in planning work, Supervising a work crew experience, Experience in NCDOT snow and ice operations

Oversee team maintaining and repairing roads

Direct daily maintenance activities

Perform pavement patching

Perform drainage repair

Perform shoulder repair

Perform vegetation control

Maintain unpaved roads

Ensure safe work practices around traffic

Ensure safe work practices around heavy equipment

Ensure safe work practices around power tools

Document daily operations

Respond to emergencies

Respond to snow events

Respond to ice events

Respond to storm events

Read and interpret plans

Determine personnel needs

Determine equipment needs

Determine material needs

Complete assigned maintenance tasks within budget

Make adjustments to plans for field conditions

Plan safety standards

Monitor safety standards

Ensure safety standards are adhered to

Document personnel usage daily

Document material usage daily

Document equipment usage daily
