Full Job Description
Network Operations Center (NOC) – Overview The Network Operations Center (NOC) serves as the central command and control hub for Transportation Execution across Amazon's Supply Chain network, spanning multiple geographies including North America, India, and the EU. NOC is responsible for ensuring the seamless, on-time movement of freight — from vendor pick-ups to Amazon Fulfillment Centers (FCs), and from FCs to carrier hubs. When exceptions arise, NOC takes swift ownership of resolution while keeping all relevant stakeholders informed throughout the process. Beyond tactical problem-solving, NOC is also entrusted with a strategic mandate: identifying trends in network exceptions, driving process automation, and recommending operational improvements to streamline transportation workflows. This requires continuous network monitoring and in-depth analysis of network data. In essence, NOC plays a pivotal role in the smooth functioning of Amazon's transportation network — directly influencing Amazon's ability to deliver on its promise to customers. Role of a Trans Ops Representative A Trans Ops Representative at NOC acts as a critical link between key stakeholders — including Transportation Carriers, Hubs, and Warehouses — facilitating the flow of information and resolving issues that could impact customer experience or business continuity. The role spans two core verticals: - Inbound Operations – Manages the Vendor/Carrier/FC relationship, ensuring freight is picked up on time and delivered to FCs as per scheduled appointments. The Trans Ops Representative addresses any issues arising during the pick-up to delivery lifecycle. - Outbound Operations – Manages the FC/Carrier/Carrier Hub relationship, ensuring trucks depart FCs on schedule to fulfill customer delivery promises. The Trans Ops Representative addresses any issues from the point freight leaves the FC through to last-mile delivery. Trans Ops Representatives drive real-time resolutions by leveraging internal tool
