What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or GED, Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, Basic math computations for length, area, and volume, Valid driver's license
Nice to Have
Two years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction experience, Recent engineer graduates interested in Construction Inspection, BS Civil Engineering, NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous field certification, ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification, PennDOT/PTC CDS certification, ECMS experience, OSHA 10-Hour certification
What You'll Do.
Consult with contractors
Ensure compliance with contract documents
Ensure compliance with contractor's health and safety plan
Check delivered materials conform to contract documents
Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy
Prepare and submit daily reports
Maintain progress checks
Keep records of quantities and cost of materials
Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims
