What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in related Transportation Projects. Minimum of 10 years' experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and project management. Minimum of 8 years in Business Development and Client Management. Positive Western Canada marketplace experience. Recognized industry track record of delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions. Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Strategic thinking and operational execution skills. Committed to continuous improvement, quality delivery, and upholding corporate values. Ability to set and execute a strategic direction for the transportation practice in Western Canada.

What You'll Do.

HDR is seeking a strong Transportation Business Group Manager to lead our team in the Western Canada market. The Transportation Business Group provides broad engineering, consulting, and planning services to a strong client base in the Western Canada area and has staff of 100+ employees in locations in Calgary, Vancouver, and Saskatoon offices. The group provides expert services to a broad cross section of clients in the area of Transit, Highways and Roads, and Freight Rail. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the business and continue to diversify the client base. Responsibilities also include leading strategic client and project pursuits, managing projects, providing technical services, staff administration, marketing, overseeing quality of deliverables, and supervising and mentoring staff. The group manager prepares annual revenue forecasts and budgets, monitors performance of the business group, and sells and wins projects that match the expertise and developmental goals of the staff for their respective cost centre. This position works cooperatively with their counterpart in Eastern Canada and National Directors to coordinate services with other business lines in the company.
