Full Job Description
Job Summary Transports patients throughout the hospital in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Communicates with the dispatcher on runs, delays, etc. Maintains transportation equipment and completes department records and transportation forms. Essential Functions · Transports patients to their tests and procedures in a safe and timely manner. · Collaborates with the nursing staff, ancillary departments, the patient, and other health care providers in providing quality patient care. · Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner. · Completes departmental records and transport forms. · Meets the department’s standard of 18+ (18-24) runs in an 8-hr. shift. · Returns equipment to their appropriate locations. (i.e. wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks). · Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of equipment. · Maintains patient confidentiality. · Provides information and gives updates within specified time intervals. · Keeps the dispatchers informed of any delays, changing of equipment, etc. · Appropriately interacts with other departments when giving or receiving patient information. · Maintains “positive” interactions with co-workers, patients, visitors, and staff. Range of Pay · Pay starting at $15.00. Qualifications Required · High School Diploma or equivalent · Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis. · Performs other duties as assigned.
