What You'll Do.

oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation

subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK

planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site

dealing with queries and issues by telephone

fax and email from our customers

sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites

liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times

creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports

reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise

support the fleet and driver training team as and when required

complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts

professional and timely internal and external communications

We would like to present you with an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team at our Wigan site on a full time permanent basis! Salary: £33,220 per annum. Working hours : 4 on 4 off, 5am-5pm. As a Transport Planner you will oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer. Key Duties of a Transport Planner: * Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK. * Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site. * Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites. * Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times. * Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports. * Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise. * Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required. * Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts. * Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications. ## Qualifications * Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment. * Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills. * Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale. * Have a flexible and adaptable app
