What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Experienced in the use of inspection and test equipment used for cargo tank inspections, Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and equipment theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (49CFR HM180. 407), Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures, Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software, Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
What You'll Do.
Perform preventative maintenance on tractor and trailer units
Perform special tank inspections
Perform general repairs on tractor and trailer units
Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers
Perform annual/systematic 90-day inspection
Perform inspections on cargo tanks
Determine mechanical condition of tractors and trailers
Repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts
Correct vehicle deficiencies by repairing
overhauling assemblies
Use technical publications for maintenance schedules
Annotate all maintenance and labor performed
Operate a yard hostler truck
Communicate need to order and receive parts
Adhere to safety and environmental policies
Clean and maintain work environment
Perform welding repairs
