What They're Looking For.
Must Have
8+ years of related experience, Expert knowledge of best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements, Experience performing advanced equipment setup and maintenance activities, display expert mechanical aptitude, shop tool, and hand tool competency, Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools, fabricating fixtures for flight and non-flight assemblies, Ability to lead and enforce 5S, FOD and ESD process, Able to read blueprints, knowledgeable in GD&T, Experience with metrology software (Verisurf or Spatial Analyzer preferred)
Nice to Have
Machinist certification or related certification, Extensive experience with Laser Trackers, portable CMM arm, or laser scanners, Significant experience in a high-precision manufacturing or toolmaking environment, Extensive experience in laser tracker operation/toolmaking, Expertise in advanced measurements, Advanced proficiency in using hand and power tools, Deep understanding of advanced toolmaking processes and techniques, Experience in the interpretation of complex technical drawings and blueprints, including GD principles, Extensive experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and advanced metrology techniques, familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail, Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others, Advanced experience with CAD/CAM software for designing and programming tooling, In-depth knowledge of material properties and advanced heat treatment processes, Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with tooling and equipment, Extensive familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices, with a track record of successful implementation
