Tool & Fixture Specialist **Company:** The Boeing Company **Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)** is currently seeking a **Tool and Fixture Specialist** to join the **Propulsion South Carolina(PSC) Tool Construction team****** in **Ladson****, South Carolina** on **second shift****.** Propulsion South Carolina (PSC) is seeking an experienced Tool & Fixture Specialist to support second shift operations. Primary responsibilities are performing emergent repair of broken tooling and periodic maintenance of tooling used to assemble 737 inlets and build up 787 engines. The PSC tool construction shop has a variety of manual and computer-controlled mills, lathes, and other machines used to fabricate replacement tooling details. A successful candidate must be able to read engineering drawings and perform conversational programming to fabricate tooling details under general direction. **On the job training will be conducted on first shift before transitioning to second shift.** **Position Responsibilities:** * Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling) * Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation * Make major repairs * Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer-controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment * Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required * Provides tooling support to other organizations * Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes * Determines fabrication and assembly processes for the design * Reverse engineers design and fabrication processes for parts * Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approve authority by manufacturing first part with new tool * Resolves problems with tools to produce acceptable parts and assemblies * Works under general direction * Submit
