Full Job Description
## Accountabilities Evaluate TOEFL/TESOL practice responses using structured scoring rubrics and ensure alignment with defined assessment criteria. Review, edit, and improve written feedback to learners to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with scoring guidelines. Develop deep expertise in specific TOEFL question formats such as Academic Discussion, Write an Email, or Virtual Interview tasks. Conduct peer review and calibration by comparing scoring decisions with other evaluators and internal benchmark scores. Ensure consistency, fairness, and standardization across evaluations to maintain assessment integrity. Collaborate remotely with internal teams and fellow contractors to resolve scoring discrepancies and improve rubric application. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in English, ESL, Education, TESOL, or a closely related field. TESOL certification is required. Minimum 5 years of experience teaching or supporting adult ESL learners. At least 1 year of direct TOEFL teaching or tutoring experience. Strong understanding of rubric-based evaluation and structured language assessment methodologies. Native-level English proficiency with multilingual capability (non-native English speaker profile preferred). Excellent attention to detail and ability to apply consistent scoring standards across varied responses. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote, contract-based environment. Familiarity with TOEFL exam formats and assessment updates is a plus. Experience with academic writing, speaking evaluation, or structured language testing is highly desirable.
