What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, 3+ years of experience with analysis simulation software/tools, Experience with test planning, test set-up, results correlation and system verification, Experience with Thermal Desktop (SINDA), Ansys, or similar thermal analysis tool, Proficiency in verbal and written communication
Nice to Have
Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering, Experience with performing tests under standards SMC-S-016, GSFC-STD-7000 and/or MIL-STD-1540, Experience with data acquisition systems for thermal and power applications, Experience in development of, and/or selection of, range of thermal control materials and finishes, paints, interface materials, MLI blankets, heat-pipes, radiators, temperature sensors, heaters, Experience with interpreting and correlating data from on–orbit telemetry

Analyze bus and payload subsystems

Support architectural trades with preliminary thermal analysis
Drive design optimizations for performance
Define and execute test setups for thermal cycling
Correlate test results with mission operations models
Define / select test equipment
and execute acceptance tests
Simulate launch vehicle environment
Document trades and design evolution
Prepare materials for design review gates
Support thermal design for terrestrial equipment
