Full Job Description
**Overview:** -Contingent (internal candidates, H4A) and \- (1) 0.3FTE- 12 hours per week, day shift, every third weekend **Job Description Summary:** Monitors and records data from medical equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety. Responsible for equipment maintenance. **Job Description:** **Essential Functions:** * Maintain appropriate heart rhythm tracing. * Recognizes normal heart rhythm, artifact, and life threatening heart rhythms. * Respond to all monitor alarms, report heart rhythm changes to RN or MD promptly. * Clean, maintain, and inventory all equipment associated with cardiac monitors and other equipment as assigned. * Precepts new employees, ability to educate other employees on correct usage of both telemetry and bedside monitors **Education Requirement:** High School Diploma or equivalent, required. **Licensure Requirement:** (not specified) **Certifications:** Current CPR certification (BLS-Health Care Provider), required. **Skills:** * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to identify abnormal rhythms and or changes in rhythms preferred **Experience:** Previous health care experience as a Nursing Assistant, Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, nursing student, EMT, Medic or experience with cardiology patients, required. **Physical Requirements:** OCCASIONALLY: Computer skills, Decision Making, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Loud Noises, Machinery, Patient Equipment, Problem solving, Standing, Walking FREQUENTLY: (none specified) CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Peripheral vision, Seeing – Far/near, Sitting **Additional Physical Requirements performed but not listed above:** Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
