Must Have
1 to 3 years experience in purchasing or production and Inventory control, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Good communication skills both written and verbal, Proven negotiation skills, Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, Proficient with ERP and computer based purchasing systems
Nice to Have
Experience in working in a cross-functional team environment, Basic mechanical aptitude - understanding of mechanical parts and equipment, Experience with or understanding of purchasing systems desired, Specific experience with purchasing mechanical components and machining services highly valued
What You'll Do.
procure assigned materials for indirect materials such as tooling
equipment and services that meet the engineering organization’s requirements for quality
Serve as the primary coordination point between engineering teams and suppliers to support prototype
and low volume material purchasing activities
and document technical requirements
and quantities from engineers to support supplier quoting activities
and maintain relationships with capable and preferred suppliers for engineered components
and evaluate supplier quotations in collaboration with engineering to ensure alignment on technical requirements
Act as a liaison between engineering teams and suppliers
coordinating responses to supplier questions and supporting clarification of drawings
Initiate purchase requisitions and coordinate purchase order issuance in accordance with internal approval processes and ERP systems
Track purchase orders from issuance through delivery
including expediting suppliers as needed to meet project and build schedules
Coordinate material receipt activities with warehouse and build-room personnel
including confirmation of quantities
Collect and maintain shipment tracking information from suppliers and provide regular status updates to engineering and project teams
Maintain accurate purchasing records including requisitions
supplier communications
Support resolution of invoice discrepancies
and specification mismatches in collaboration with suppliers
Generate and maintain material tracking
and delivery reports to support engineering and program management scheduling
Assist with inventory organization and coordination of engineering materials
and piece parts as required
Coordinate purchasing activities across multiple engineering teams and projects
