## Overview: * **Full-time, Continuing position** * **Salary HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements** * **Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University** **About The Position** The Technical Officer reports to the Technical Coordinator and is responsible for delivering technical support and services for learning and teaching, research, and industry activities conducted within the Process Chemistry and Environmental Engineering laboratories. The role requires experience across a broad range of chemical and environmental engineering laboratory equipment and processes, including bench and pilot-scale reactors, distillation and separation systems, fluid flow and heat transfer equipment, and water and wastewater treatment operations. The incumbent will provide technical advice, training, and operational support to staff and students in the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment. Working under the direction of the Technical Coordinator, the role is also responsible for supporting the ongoing maintenance of laboratories and equipment, while contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of OHS standards and practices. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: * Proven knowledge and experience in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, including an understanding of chemical process design, reaction engineering, separation processes, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, water and wastewater treatment processes, and safety and regulatory compliance in laboratory environments. * Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, reactors, distillation and separation units, filtration and membrane systems, fluid flow and heat transfer rigs, pumps and metering equipment, water and wastewater treatment systems. * Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation, regulations and standards with relevant
