If living within 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View, expected to report to that location three times a week, Relocation benefits may be available, Company vehicle evaluation program eligibility

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience, Demonstrated track record of building high quality software, Focus on the customer through operational excellence, Broad exposure to the end-to-end product engineering stack, Experience with SOA or microservice-based architectures, Experience with large scale distributed systems, Experience with common cloud platforms like AWS/GCP, Organizational skills, Communication skills, Self-motivation, Passion to lead, Passion to mentor, Passion to encourage best practices, Passion to constantly improve, Familiarity with Python, Familiarity with Go, Familiarity with Node, Familiarity with React, Familiarity with other web development framework/languages, PostgreSQL (or similar relational database), Data warehouse technologies like BigQuery or Amazon Redshift, Passion for self-driving technology

Nice to Have

Background in robotics, Background in ROS, Background in the AV/ADAS industry, Scientific Analysis experience, Experience with data pipelines/workflows supporting data scientists, Experience building high quality dev productivity tools, Experience writing modern production C++ applications, Experience developing high-quality software under significant latency and performance constraints, Experience developing or working with safety-critical code

Act as technical architect

Define technical vision and strategy

Ensure technical direction aligns with company objectives

Design and implement systems for simulating millions of miles

Improve and deliver reliable software

Drive software engineering best practices

Develop tools promoting best practices

Develop and oversee software engineers

Define GM engineering culture and principles

Build and optimize infrastructure

Build and optimize technology for testing and evaluation workflows

Build and optimize data processing pipelines
