Full Job Description
The Global Energy Sustainability & Automation Electrical Engineering team is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to oversee the installation and upgrade of electrical power systems at facilities in North America. In this role, the TIPM will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of electrical distribution upgrades from project identification though implementation. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a deep understanding of electrical power systems with demonstrated experience in strategy, design, construction, and maintenance. The individual plays a critical role in our organization’s commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical distribution systems. Key job responsibilities Key Responsibilities 1. Identify sites and develop conceptual designs for the upgrades of low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems. 2. Partner with outside electrical engineering firms and electrical contractors to implement the solution compliant with existing Amazon and relevant industry standards 3. Perform project estimates and financial return on investment calculations 4. Secure and oversee funding of projects/programs 5. Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 6. Support operations; construction; and other relevant departments with product development and testing 7. Conduct equipment failure investigation and provide mitigation solutions 8. Monitor trends in electrical system reports, and escalate as necessary to drive improvements; or immediate corrective actions to electrical systems 9. 50% Travel to facilities across North America 10. 3-4 weeks annually of 24/7 on-call electrical engineering support Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience - Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software) - Experience with varying scenarios
