What They're Looking For.
Must Have
5+ years foam sculpting, 5+ years prop-making, 5+ years scenic art, Proven ability to lead a team, Expert skill with hand-carving tools, Operating 3D robots, Operating hot wires, Operating sanders, Adhesive applications, Exceptional ability to visualize 3D forms, Understanding of form, texture, and proportion, Proficiency in scenic painting, Proficiency in texturing techniques, Basic knowledge of ERP systems, Basic knowledge of inventory software, Microsoft Office/Excel for reporting, Hands-on problem-solving ability, Ability to work quickly, Ability to stand for long periods, Ability to handle large materials
Nice to Have
Event industry experience preferred, Film industry experience preferred
What You'll Do.
Motivate workshop team
Provide training to staff
Ensure adherence to SOPs
Run daily toolbox talks
Discuss project status
Interpret technical drawings
Interpret artistic sketches
Translate concepts into props
Coordinate workshop workflow
Create large-scale structures
Ensure structural integrity
Apply fine details to foam
Apply hard-coating materials
Integrate steel armatures
Integrate electrical components
Work with project managers
Update on potential delays
Update on material issues
Support on-site installation
Lead on-site installation
Adhere to safety protocols
Maintain orderly workspace
Inspect finished products
Ensure client specifications met
Identify fabrication issues
Resolve technical fabrication issues
Manage raw materials inventory
Coordinate with purchasing
Ensure equipment maintained
Ensure equipment in good working order
