Full Job Description
As a tax associate, you will work directly with the tax team to create personal, Fiduciary, S-Corporation, partnership, private foundation and gift tax returns. The successful tax associate will be a tax enthusiast, thoughtful listener, have a strong team mentality, and be driven to grow professionally and personally. Responsibilities - Prepare tax returns, quarterly and annual income tax projections, estimated tax vouchers, extension forms and all related work papers and financial statements - Maintain client paper files and electronic data files in a timely manner; compile quarterly asset values for billing, journals, transfers, invoicing, annuity fees, commission fees and collection consulting fees - Present complete, timely and accurate client deliverables in an efficient manner - Attend and participate in learning opportunities through associate meetings and internal resources made available through compliance, practice management, etc. - Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities, research technical matters for complex tax needs and updates to regulations - Compliance to the Firm’s quality control standards - Additional projects, furthering the service of clients as needed Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, Accounting - 1 + years of related experience Skills and Knowledge - Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel - Familiarity with tax software programs - Positive attitude toward client relations to provide exceptional, proactive client service - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain the necessary attention to detail - Highly organized with strong analytical skills, creative problem solving and strong research capabilities - Ability to work on a team while maintaining a high level of responsibility and accountability to individual projects and tasks - Able to manage conflicting priorities, deadline-based tasks and simultaneous projects - Clear communicator with strong interpersonal writing
