## Description Space Systems Integration (SSI) is a fast-growing engineering company that provides aerospace solutions to a variety of government and commercial customers.  Our employees are forward-thinking, self-directed individuals who are committed to solving our customers’ technical challenges. SSI is seeking a Chief Space Systems Engineer for a role in El Segundo, CA.   Role and Responsibilities include: Engages with developers to evaluate software simulators, engineering units, and hardware simulators through integration activities. Leads technical requirements development, systems engineering, and oversees the development contractor to develop, design, produce, integrate, and test space systems. Oversees payload integration and interface control management. Performs system integration of multiple efforts to integrate complex space systems, ground segment integration, and deployment into operations. Manage and negotiate interface control documents with external stakeholders. Performs systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, interface definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, systems integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and development and refinement of communications concepts of operation. Oversees requirements verification and validation. Makes program risk assessments and provides actionable recommendations to the chief engineer and program manager. Independently collaborates with Government program office representatives, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor personnel. ## Required Qualifications Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience in systems engineering, acquisition, or program management within the Department of Defense (DoD) community.
