Full Job Description

Overview: G2IT is seeking a Systems Administrator – Journeyman to support client-facing strategic initiatives and ensure the seamless implementation and maintenance of automated solutions. In this role, you will collaborate on large and complex programs, contribute to high-visibility or mission-critical projects, and help refine the strategic vision for G2IT’s IT Service Management operations in support of both the company and our clients. As a Systems Administrator – Journeyman, you will perform a wide range of system administration duties independently and may oversee the work of junior team members or manage all staff assigned to specific tasks. Key Responsibilities: Install and configure new software releases, perform system upgrades, evaluate and apply patches, and resolve software-related issues. Perform regular system backups and recovery to ensure data protection. Maintain data files and monitor system configurations to ensure integrity and performance. Manage the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems. Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, validate and implement critical system patches, and allocate mass storage. Assist with scheduling, planning, and overseeing system upgrades. Develop functional requirements through collaboration with end users and coordinate with development teams to implement system enhancements or changes. Monitor and control computer operating systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability. Assist in identifying methods and techniques for improving system operations and troubleshooting procedures. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. S. Citizenship required. Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum). CompTIA Security+ certification (minimum). Annual Salary $72-78k, depending on experience
