Full Job Description
The Air Science & Tech (AST) team is the dedicated technology team for Amazon Air. AST is part of the Middle Mile Product and Tech (MMPT) organization and works with other MMPT teams to deliver integrated solutions for Air Operations. We are seeking a Systems Development Engineer who will help us innovate within our systems and processes to streamline operations and improve system robustness. This role is critical to ensuring our air cargo operations run efficiently and reliably at scale. A successful candidate will be a problem solver who can identify opportunities to improve system reliability, automate manual processes, and build scalable solutions. You will work closely with Product Managers, Program Managers, Software Development Managers, Software Development Engineers, and Research Scientists to help grow Amazon's air business through technical excellence and operational innovation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical abilities in AWS services and experience building integrations with third-party tooling. You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that enhance system robustness, reduce operational toil, and improve the overall reliability of our air cargo technology stack. This role requires someone who is comfortable operating in ambiguous spaces, can effectively prioritize competing demands, and has a track record of delivering high-quality technical solutions that drive measurable business impact.
