What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Relevant academic background in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Nutrition, Microbiology, Agroecology, or related field, Experience developing and/or managing farm system transition pathways, Familiarity with agricultural research (e.g., experimental design, analysis, interpretation of results), Project management skills and experience leading complex initiatives with diverse stakeholders
Nice to Have
Consideration of diverse cropping systems, sustainable plant protection, nutrient cycling, and integrated soil fertility management, Ability to model productivity and financial impact of changes, Familiarity with the latest advances in sustainable plant nutrition, Robust experimental analysis capabilities, Experience navigating agricultural regulatory or product registration pathways in Sub-Saharan Africa

Identify promising innovations for smallholders in Sub-Saharan Africa
Accelerate research on agricultural technologies
Improve access to innovations for smallholders
Define trial strategy and prioritization
Translate strategy into action plan
Meet targets in agricultural research
Meet targets in government relations
Meet targets in supplier engagement
Meet targets in logistics
Meet targets in supply chain
Support R&D leads on trial design
Support R&D leads on trial execution
Support R&D leads on trial analysis
Support R&D leads on result dissemination
Work with suppliers to refine products
Suggest trials to suppliers
Propose new formulations to suppliers
Address supply chain constraints
Expedite supplier research
Help suppliers demonstrate efficacy
Help suppliers achieve product registration
Keep stakeholders aligned
Ensure stakeholders work effectively
Provide regular stakeholder updates
Maintain stakeholder relationships
Liaise with Government Relations colleagues
Advocate for policy changes
