Role summary The Survey Technology Specialist drives survey technology evaluation, implementation, and adoption across the firm. This technically focused, hands-on role evaluates new hardware and software, completes and supports in-progress survey projects, documents procedures, and develops training so survey teams can reliably use new tools and workflows. This is a fulltime, Tualatin-office role with regular field work and cross-office rollout responsibilities. Compensation will be determined case-by-case based on experience. What You’ll Do Evaluate new survey hardware and software (GNSS/RTK, total stations, LiDAR, UAV/drone systems, point-cloud tools, field and office software) and lead pilot projects to validate capabilities and workflows. Implement new technology firmwide: develop rollout plans, coordinate equipment procurement, and partner with leads in other offices to ensure smooth adoption. Complete and take ownership of mid-project survey tasks when supervisors need assistance—troubleshoot, finish field runs, and produce deliverables to get projects to closeout. Create and maintain SOPs, step-by-step procedures, and “how-to” documentation that memorialize existing knowledge and standardize best practices.
