**Overview:** **Monday - Friday, Day Shift** Full-Time, 1.0 FTE, Benefits Eligible **Job Description Summary:** Performs high-quality data abstraction and ongoing data collection of surgical patients, generating reports, analyzing data, and assisting with data for research projects. **Job Description:** **Essential Functions:** * Validates and submits surgical data and participates in data audits as needed. * Collects data on preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative variables for inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Participates in surgical quality improvement efforts and hospital-wide performance improvement teams as assigned, collaborating to review results, analyze data, and prepare reports. * Participates in strategy development and ensures compliance with quality tracking processes to meet verification standards. * Evaluates the quality and efficiency of care provision throughout the surgical care continuum. **Education Requirement:** BSN, required. **Licensure Requirement:** State of Ohio nursing license, required. **Certifications:** * National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) certification within 90 days of hire, required. * Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) certification within 90 days of hire, required. **Skills:** * Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office. * Ability to analyze and interpret data. **Experience:** * Two years of experience in a medical, surgical, or Perioperative setting, required. * Experience with surgical patients, required. * Pediatric experience preferred. **Physical Requirements:** OCCASIONALLY: Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Standing, Walking FREQUENTLY: Decision Making, Interpreting Data, Problem solving CONTINUOUSLY: Sitting "The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
