What You'll Do.
Coordinate administrative duties relevant to surgical operations
Enter post-surgical data
Schedule surgical equipment
Coordinate complex appointment scheduling
Link consults and ancillary services
Schedule patient appointments
Ensure OR block time is efficiently utilized
Coordinate combined surgical cases
Schedule surgical cases for specialized diagnosis
Schedule physicians for surgery at outside facilities
Coordinate all aspects of scheduling
Manage department and provider surgical case calendars
Interview patients and families
Obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information
Ensure questionnaires and forms are completed
Enter data into system for registration
Enter data for billing
Enter data for patient tracking
Enter data for charge capture
Enter data for reconciliation
Complete case order requests
Request resources or additional equipment
Confirm insurance coverage
Obtain authorizations for surgical procedures
Act as lead for surgical cases
Work with teammates who assist with obtaining authorization
Interact with departments across the hospital
Initiate appeals to insurance payor
Participate in agent phone system
Log on and off appropriately
Handle all surgery scheduling calls
Assist with nurse/doctor calls
Provide messages to mid-levels for patient follow up

It may also include other administrative duties as needed.
