2 years of medical clerical preferably in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting, Knowledge of medical terminology, Knowledge of payor contract terms and processes, Excellent organizational skills, Effective human relations and communication skills, Effective teamworking skills, Ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards, Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, Ability to use computerized scheduling systems, Ability to maintain accurate statistical records, Gather data, Produce reports

What You'll Do.

Compile and report statistical information
Coordinate case times for surgeries and procedures
Verify physician privilege status
Acquire authorization numbers
Order previous medical records
Type and print physician orders
Schedule and maintain physician block time
Enter physician orders for lab
Enter diagnostic test results
Enter patient registration information
Enter patient charges
Conduct charge management audits
Reconcile charge packet information
Identify and correct missed or incorrect charges
Act as a receptionist
Greet and direct patients
Answer questions about policies and procedures
Act as a liaison among nursing units
Screen requests for patient information
Record and type minutes of staff meetings
Prepare and distribute staff call roster
Enter facility work orders and supply orders
Request repairs/maintenance for business machines
Arrange for pickup and delivery of instruments and equipment
Complete necessary paperwork
Maintain a smooth workflow in the area
Work with minimal supervision
Work under stressful situations
Maintain highly confidential information

Act as an office liaison for department staff, physicians, and patient families; Interface with medical staff office; Act as a liaison among nursing units, physician and staff
